The Smithsonian Channel

One of the great attractions for visitors to Washington is the Smithsonian Institution and its complex of museums. In September it will launch a linear cable channel and VOD service through a joint venture with Showtime Networks. Since the CTAM Summit was in D.C., Steve Nelson stopped by the Smithsonian to learn more about its TV plans. The Commons in the Castle is part of the Institution’s original building, and today it houses a wide variety of exhibits sampling the diversity of its holdings. Steve met there with David Royle, EVP of Programming and Production for the venture.
